Here's what's happened on the show ...
There was the usual potpourri of tunes - from the twenties on up. A Maytals 45 from Jamaica, hot Jazz and Be Bop 78s from the recently acquired 'Be Bop Batch', another batch of Moon Tunes featuring Betty Carter. Bing Crosby, Mac Wiseman and the Persuasions plus more.
The first hour included a nod to twenties singer-songwriter Willard Robison. Jack Teagarden (A Cottage For Sale) and Nina Simone (Don't Smoke In Bed) providing spine tingling covers of Willards tunes. We also heard Willard himself on a 1929 78.
A tribute to the Yukon's Farrago festival was one of the highlights of hour two with great performances from Brent Titcomb, Bob Ruzicka and the much missed Colleen Peterson.
The last half hour positively rocked - in an obscure Fifties kind of way.
I've scanned some of the great labels and covers of records featured. See below for a sneak preview.
